Jump Rope for the Heart; Donuts for Dads; Dress Down & MUCH more!

Kingsley Weekly News

Jump Rope for the Heart
This Friday, February 1, 2013, our Kingsley kids will jump rope during their PE time to raise money for the American Heart Association and for Coach Thomas!  WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this event successful.  Here's a quick checklist to show you how you can support The American Heart Association, Coach Thomas, and Kingsley Elementary.

1- Sign up to volunteer for one of the time slots.  You can sign up for one hour or longer depending on your schedule.  Volunteers will be taking the kids donations, serving refreshments, and cheering them on while they jump rope.  These are the times that the kids will be jumping if you want too coordinate your volunteer time.  Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled time and we can show you what to do.
Email Ana Murphy at ad_89@bellsouth.net
7:50am-8:50am - 3rd grade
8:50am-9:45am - 4th grade
9:45am-10:35am - 2nd grade
11:45-12:35pm Kindergarten
12:35-1:25pm - 1st grade
1:25pm-2:10pm- 5th grade

2- Bring refreshments.  We desperately need BIG bottles of gatorade/powerade, 4 oz. bottles of water (you can get a pack of 60 at Costco for about $8), and small 4 oz. cups (small coffee cup size cups will work great).  Drop off the drinks at the front office or at the gym.  Email Ana Murphy at ad_89@bellsouth.net

3- Raise money for the American Heart Association!  Your child brought home the form last Thursday with all of the details.  You can visit the website at www.heart.org/jump  to register your child.  Then, email your family and friends and ask for their donations.  Coach Thomas would like for every child to raise at least $50.  Make checks payable to the American Heart Association and send the form and checks with your child on Friday.

Coach Thomas has set a goal to raise $5000 for the AHA which will earn Kingsley Elementary a check for almost $500.  Coach Thomas will use the money to buy new gymnastics mats for the kids to tumble on.  His current mats are over 30 years old.  Let's show our support and upgrade those mats!

THERE’S STILL TIME TO RAISE MORE!  The money you raise will help by funding research, changing laws to make everyone healthy and making helpful programs like Jump Rope For Heart.
  • Think about WHY you want to raise money to help kids and others with special hearts. Do you have a family member or friend with a special heart? Has one of the stories on the Jump Rope for Heart website inspired you to help? SHARE your “WHY” when you’re asking for donations.
  • Set a GOAL for yourself: Could you send out 10 quick EMAILS? Could you make and send 10 E-CARDS? GO FOR IT!
  • MAKE THE MOST out of this week!

Thanks for your support and your dedication to Kingsley Elementary!
