Odyssey of the Mind Team Tryouts Begin August 25
"I would describe Odyssey as fun, exciting and awesome."
"The most fun, exciting, and best club in the world."
- comments from members of last year's Odyssey of the Mind team at Kingsley
Creative thinking. Problem solving. Teamwork. That's what kids love about Odyssey of the Mind. Students work together on problems that have many possible answers. Using their imagination, they write plays, make costumes, build structures, and learn to think beyond what's ordinary and expected.
Kingsley's Odyssey of the Mind team will practice on Thursdays throughout the school year. We'll work together to learn new skills, practice working as a team, and create an original presentation. In the spring, the team will take part in a regional competition with teams from around the metro Atlanta area.
Students in grades 2-5 who would like to be on this year's Odyssey of the Mind team should attend tryouts on Aug. 25, Sept. 1 and Sept. 8. Meet in the 5th grade hall outside Ms. Wildes' room at 2:40, after the third afternoon bell. We will hold our meeting in Mrs. Kilbride's learning cottage. Students should be picked up at 3:45 p.m. at the front office. (After care students will be released to after care staff when the meeting is over.)
If you have questions about the Odyssey of the Mind team at Kingsley, contact parent coach Dori Kleber at (770) 390-0896 or Mrs. Kilbride, the team's faculty sponsor.
