Back to School and Open House/Registration Information

YOUR KINGSLEY FAMILY WELCOMES YOU BACK TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, AUGUST 8th!

Here is some important information to help you prepare your family and students for the new school year.

REGISTRATION/OPEN HOUSE – WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3 8AM-2PM

Please schedule time on Wednesday, August 3 between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm to come to the school for Open House.

What to Bring:

• Remember, ALL FAMILIES (new and returning) MUST bring a proof of residence (mortgage statement, lease, or utility bill) along with any other required documentation. For details about the documentation you must bring to Open House, visit the DCSS Registration Information web page. TIP: Bring a copy of your Georgia Natural Gas bill to use for proof of residency and to enroll in GNG’s program so Kingsley can collect free money from GNG.
• Bring your checkbook or cash to fulfill your annual Charter Dues ($45 per family), student activities fees ($5 per student), school supply purchases, and yearbook purchase ($28). During Open House, you'll be able to purchase school supplies, including the required planner for students in Grades 1-5 ($5), Math Book for 5th graders ($2) and field trip t-shirts ($8). We will also have a limited number of prepackaged supply sets or individual items from our school store.

What You Can Do Ahead of Time:

Four ways you can reduce how long it takes you to get through Open House are:

1. Review the Open House Stations document so you know where to go and what you'll need to do.
2. Validate your K12 User Profile (for Returning families) or creating your K12 User Profile (for New families). If you do it before August 2, you'll be able to get your Charter Form initialed and skip the line at the Computer Lab. Visit the Volunteering-K12 page on the Kingsley website for instructions.
3. Enroll your Georgia Natural Gas account in GNG’s True Blue Schools program. GNG will give Kingsley a large donation when you enroll and will send $5 every month that you pay your bill. It’s that easy! Just go to http://www.trueblueschools.com/ and enroll.
4. Print and review the 2011-2012 Parent Contract at home and bring a signed copy with you. This year’s Parent Contract is available on the Kingsley website in both English and Spanish.
