Get that Costume Ready Book Character Dress Up Day is Tomorrow
It's highly unlikely that your student will let you forget, but tomorrow, Friday 8/26, is Book Character Dress Up Day--the day when students come dressed in costumes that match up with a character in one of their favorite books. Sign Up Deadline for Chorus is Friday
If your 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student wants to participate in the Kingsley Chorus this year, please make sure to turn in your sign-up sheet this week to Mrs. Bell. Chorus rehearsals begin next week. This year, the Chorus' key performances are their Holiday Program on December 15 and at during Kingsley's annual Night of the Arts event on March 29.  If you have any questions about Kingsley's Chorus program, please contact Carole Bell at Carole_A_Bell@fc.dekalb.k12.ga.us.



Annual Update from Dr. Smith - Tuesday 8/30 5:00-5:30pm
Would you like an update on Kingsley's AYP status, performance compared to our 2010-11 charter goals and new initiatives launched for the 2011-12 school year? If so, please come to the Annual Update on Tuesday, August 30 from 5:00-5:30 in the Kingsley cafeteria. The presentation will start promptly to ensure the Charter Council can begin their regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 5:30.

Meet and Greet with DCSS Superintendent Finalist Candidate - Saturday 8/27 10:00am
On Saturday, August 27, the DeKalb County Board of Education is hosting an event to allow parents and other community members an opportunity to meet the board's finalist candidate for the Superintendent position and hear Dr. Cheryl Atkinson's vision for DCSS. This event will take place at the DCSS Administrative Complex located at 1701 Mountain Industrial Blvd, Tucker, GA 30083.

Pack 477 School Night for Scouting & 1st Pack Meeting

Pack 477 is hosting two events to help families with boys interested in becoming a Cub Scout learn about the program. If you have any questions, please contact pack leader David Bieber at bieber477@bellsouth.net.

Pack 477 will be hosting a School Night for scouting this Thursday, August 25th at 5PM at Kingsley.  Please join us if your son is interesting in learning more about scouting.

1st Pack Meeting - Open to Boys Interested in Being a Scout
Monday, 8/29 7:00-8:00pm
at Kingswood UMC (at the corner of Tilly Mill Rd. and N. Peachtree Rd.)
Pack 477 will be holding our 1st  Pack meeting of the 2011-2012 school year open to all scouts and boys interested in the joining the Cub Scout Program.  Cub Scouting is the entry point for the Boy Scout Program. Scouting teaches self-confidence, pride, responsibility, leadership skills, and provides a moral compass for wise choices.  All this along with making new friends and having lots of fun!   Please join us to learn more.Download invitation and details >>

Girl Scouts Information Meeting - This Thursday at 5:30pm

Girl Scouts Information Meeting
What did your daughter do today?
From rock climbing, to photojournalism, to canoe adventures, to community gardens. Girl Scouts turns boring days into days girls will remember all their life. Girl Scouts gives every girl access to life-changing experiences that inspire her to do something big.

  • Troops will be able to be formed only as volunteer leaders become available. Please consider becoming your daughter's Troop Leader.
  • Girl Scout volunteers receive free local training and the satisfaction of helping to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place!
  • Girl Scouting is open to girls in Kindergarten - 12th grades
