A new location to show your Kingsley Spirit!

Come send off Kingsley's Destination Imagination Team with this fundraiser that will benefit its trip to the Global Finals competition later this month.  Hear firsthand from parents and students how your child can benefit from this amazing team building and creativity discovering after-school experience next year.  Just identify yourself as with Kingsley, and a percentage of your check will be donated toward the team's travel expenses. And who knows, there may even be balloon animals. Come find out!

Located in the former Ace Homeplace shopping center at 2486 Mt Vernon Rd., O'Brian's features a smoke-free, family friendly atmosphere. See a sample menu here.

Are you a communicator?
The Charter Council is seeking passionate volunteers to work in the following areas of communication next school year:
- Website
- Email newsletters
- Facebook Page

Email council@kingsleycharter.org to learn more about how you can get involved.

Log Your Volunteer Hours
Whether you volunteered 16 hours or 160 hours, each and every hour is important to log in K12Ambit.  The documentation of volunteer hours helps build a case for renewal of the charter and increases grant opportunities.  Log your hours now at http://k12ambit.com/

Remember, according to the charter contract signed at the start of the year, every family is supposed to serve 16 hours through volunteering or donating needed items to the school or for events, and many of you have met the Charter Challenge by doubling that commitment and serving 32 or more hours.  Make sure we know it by logging your hours using these guidelines:
  • 1 hour for attending an event regardless of how long the event lasted (1 hour per family, not per parent).
  • For cooked items for class activities or school events, 1 hour for homemade items and 0.5 hours for purchased items
  • Actual amount of time worked for any events or activities you've assisted with.

Box Tops & Campbell Soup Labels Update

  • Box Tops - Kingsley received two checks this school year totaling $1,215. Our families & teachers collected over 12,150 Box Tops! Since our most recent submission on March 1, 2013,  over 12,000 additional Box Tops were dropped off at school. That's equivalent to a YEAR worth of Box Tops collected since March 1, 2013. Keep clipping!
  • Campbell Soup Labels - Kingsley submitted over 3,000 Campbell Soup Label points this school year. After banking close to 38,000 points over several school years, last month we redeemed 37,000 points for some new PE equipment. Six new soccer balls and 2 new gym mats are on their way to us right now!

2013-14 Registration Forms are located on the Kingsley web site. Kindergarten registration will be by appointment May 28-30. See the website for details.
