A new location to show your Kingsley Spirit!
Come send off Kingsley's Destination Imagination Team with this fundraiser that will benefit its trip to the Global Finals competition later this month. Hear firsthand from parents and students how your child can benefit from this amazing team building and creativity discovering after-school experience next year. Just identify yourself as with Kingsley, and a percentage of your check will be donated toward the team's travel expenses. And who knows, there may even be balloon animals. Come find out!
Located in the former Ace Homeplace shopping center at 2486 Mt Vernon Rd., O'Brian's features a smoke-free, family friendly atmosphere. See a sample menu here.
Yogli Mogli Spirit Night
Tuesday, May 21
Our favorite neighborhood frozen yogurt retailer closes out the school year's spirit nights. However, watch for some summer spirit night opportunities to be announced soon.
**Log Your Volunteer Hours**
Whether you volunteered 16 hours or 160 hours, each and every hour is important to log in K12Ambit. The documentation of volunteer hours helps build a case for renewal of the charter and increases grant opportunities. Log your hours now at http://k12ambit.com/.
Remember, according to the charter contract signed at the start of the year, every family is supposed to serve 16 hours through volunteering or donating needed items to the school or for events, and many of you have met the Charter Challenge by doubling that commitment and serving 32 or more hours. Make sure we know it by logging your hours using these guidelines:
- 1 hour for attending an event regardless of how long the event lasted (1 hour per family, not per parent).
- For cooked items for class activities or school events, 1 hour for homemade items and 0.5 hours for purchased items
- Actual amount of time worked for any events or activities you've assisted with.
Get your hours in by this Sunday!!
Volunteer Appreciation Morning
Parents are invited to Volunteer Appreciation Morning on Tuesday, May 14 from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Drop in the media center at your convenience so that the administration, faculty, and Council can show its appreciation for our fantastic parent volunteers. And Charter Challenge families (32 or more hours), there will be a small token of appreciation for you as well.
