Kingsley Weekly Update: Fall Festival, Picture Day & more


Fall Festival is TWO days away!
There are many general volunteer slots available.  Click below to sign-up for a time slot.  We need families to volunteer beyond helping with classroom specific booths and activities:
Items Needed:  Organizers need to borrow cordless power drills A few 10 x 10 tents are also still needed. Contact Melanie Marks if you can loan one. 

Buy your Fall Festival Tickets in advance to get them for 4 for $1. They will be 3 for $1 on Saturday.  Send this form in with a check by tomorrow!

Individual Picture Day is Monday, October 15. Order forms and information sheets are being sent home in the Courier today. Please remember that your child must wear his or her regular uniform. Contact: Heidi Neumann

K-Kids Club Starts today. K-Kids, a service organization for students in 4th and 5th grades, is looking for a few good helpers!  The elementary division of Kiwanis International,  K-Kids has more than 36,000 members worldwide. Students learn leadership through  service as they plan and carry out community service projects. All meetings will be from 2:45-4:00 p.m. If your 4th or 5th grader is interested in being a part of K-Kids, please have your student see or email Ms. Keel  (nan_h_keel@fc.dekalb.k12.ga.us) for a registration form. More info

Earn cash for Kingsley by clipping Box Tops and Soup LabelsThe classes are competing for a giant treasure box of goodies for the class that submits the most clippings in the month of October! The collection box is in the PARENT ROOM.

So far, Mrs. Hash's 2nd grade class and Mr. Snyder's 4th grade class are neck and neck for first place!  Special thanks to the Kaiser family (Pre-K) and the Voynich family (3rd) for sending in big, stuffed ziploc bags full of Box Tops and Campbell's Soup Labels last week. More info

RunDunwoody 5K-1M-Tot Trot. Support Kingsley in the team challenge on Sunday, Occtober 21. Sign up at rundunwoody.net. When asked if you want to participate in the Team Challenge, click yes and select Kingsley.

The Finance Action Team meets on Monday, October 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the Media Center.  Have an interest in fundraising or grant writing for Kingsley?  Come to this open meeting!

5th grade parents: Please don't forget to drop your case of bottled water and any baked goods at Parent Headquarters by Friday afternoon.
