For the past few weeks, the weekly Kingsley eNews has been packed full of information about activities going on with our students and parents, fundraising efforts and volunteer opportunities. This week is no different. The reality is that we have a busy school with active kids and engaged parents—that’s a great situation! While all the details are in this email and on our website, sometimes it helps to have a checklist. So, here’s a list to help make sure you don’t forget anything:
- By Friday 11/4, sign up to bring something to our Election Day Bake Sale – bring items on Monday.
- By Friday 11/4, donate any extra Halloween candy or other care package goodies.
- By Tuesday 11/8, RSVP if you are coming to the All Pro Dad’s breakfast on 11/10.
- By Tuesday 11/8, RSVP if you have family coming to the Grandparents Luncheon on 11/17.
- On Wednesday 11/9 or Thursday 11/10, pick up your cookie dough order in the gym (times listed below).
- By Thursday 11/10, RSVP if your family is coming to Pizza Bingo night on 11/15.
- If your student is in Mrs. D’s 1st grade class, make sure to ask them about the treasure box they won for collecting the most Box Tops and Campbell’s labels.
Got too much candy? Donate it to troops overseas
Kingsley is hosting a collection drive for candy or other items for care packages to send to our troops overseas. Complete details are on the Kingsley website.
Election Day Bake Sale for Campus Beautification, Tuesday 11/8
The Kingsley Garden Club is sponsoring an Elections Day bake sale to raise money for our Campus Beautification efforts. We have a goal of $2000+. Our plans for this year are to re-landscape the front entrance and to fix erosion problems and improve the appearance of the area surrounding the playing field. Last year the ED bake sale (funds were earmarked for the Kingsley band) raised almost $700!!! With your help, we can raise that much or more this year! Election Day brings hundreds of community members through our doors and is an excellent opportunity to reach out to them for their support. Many are former Kingsley parents themselves and interested in what's happening at their neighborhood school.
How Can You Help?
- Bake - Send in homemade baked goods individually wrapped in portions to sell for $1 each on Monday, 11/7. Leave them on the table in the Parent Headquarters (across from office) or drop off in carpool lane. No store bought items please - these do not sell well.
- Volunteer - Work a 1-2 hour shift at the bake sale from 7am-7pm on Tue. 11/8. Email kcsgardenclub@yahoo.com with your availability or volunteer online using Signup Genius - www.SignUpGenius.com/go/election32. We would like two volunteers per hour and will sell until we run out of baked goods or volunteers to man the table.
RSVP by 11/8 for Grandparents Luncheon on 11/17
We hope you’ll be able to attend this special, annual event. Please make sure to RSVP either online or by sending in your printed form by next Tuesday so we can make sure to have enough food and seating. Complete details about this event are on the Kingsley website homepage.
