Election Day Bake Sale for Campus Beautification, Tuesday 11/8

The Kingsley Garden Club is sponsoring an Elections Day bake sale to raise money for our Campus Beautification efforts.  We have a goal of $2000+.  Our plans for this year are to re-landscape the front entrance and to fix erosion problems and improve the appearance of the area surrounding the playing field.

Last year the ED bake sale (funds were earmarked for the Kingsley band) raised almost $700!!!  With your help, we can raise that much or more this year!

Election Day brings hundreds of community members through our doors and is an excellent opportunity to reach out to them for their support.  Many are former Kingsley parents themselves and interested in what's happening at their neighborhood school.

How Can you Help?
  • Bake - Send in homemade baked goods individually wrapped in portions to sell for $1 each on Monday, 11/7.  Leave them on the table in the Parent Headquarters (across from office).  No store bought items please - these do not sell well.
  • Volunteer - Work a 1-2 hour shift at the bake sale from 7am-7pm on Tue. 11/8.  Email kcsgardenclub@yahoo.com with your availability.  We would like at least two volunteers per hour and will sell until we run out of baked goods or volunteers to man the table.
Unlike last year's Election Day, school will be in session this time.  Voting will take place in the media center and we will have our table setup there.  Thanks in advance for your support of our Campus Beautification efforts!!

Peachtree Middle needs your vote to win a $50,000 grant

As you may know, PCMS’ track is in horrible condition. What you may not know is that the PCMS parents have already raised a little more than $40,000 over the last two years.  They need Dunwoody’s help though to win this grant so they can repair the track and make it safe for the current 6th-8th graders butalso for our kids who will be there in a few years.  If PCMS can win the Power a Bright Future grant, it will put them over the finish line.

Will you please help? It’s simple! There are two ways to vote:

1.    Go to http://www.powerabrightfuture.com/gallery/detail/?nid=347

OR

2.    Text the phrase clorox8514 to the number 44144

A person over the age of 13 can text and online vote once a day today through Dec 9!

Candy for Troops
The students at Kingsley are hoping to bring a little cheer to troops serving in Afghanistan by sending them candy-filled care packages. This year, Kingsley is partnering with Troops 360 to provide the troops with sweet treats.

If you end up with too much Halloween candy, why not think about sharing the treats with the soldiers overseas. Troop 360, is a local nonprofit that will send Candy Solution care packages to over 4,500 Army soldiers.

Families who would like to donate candy or other items for the Candy Solution care packages can bring their donations to a drop off box that will be located in the front office. The deadline to bring your treats is November 4.
sszknight@hotmail.com to sign up for available days. Thank you.
